How are you lately? Yes, I have an excuse for not sending you updates for weeks. We had terrible email connection since leaving Toamasina (1st port of Madagascar). And we are now at the left corner of Indian Ocean (check your world map again, try to pronounce "Reunion" in Frenchee way)
We don’t have bird flu on this island. Stop asking questions like that. The birds have to fly three days from Madagascar to here. I enjoy pretty much everything on Reunion, French people, Chinese hospitality, weather, hiking trails, cleanness, safety, and pure drinking water from the tap. However, since it is part of Europe, the expense of everything is eye-opening. Averaging 25% higher than France (imports), people basically have to pay 7~8 Euros for just a Big Mac meal. (I just paid 5.60 usd at time square New York!)
I got a new role on the ship since 2 days ago. If you are friend enough, please do bear with me. I just had my first press conference in a French speaking territory. Last 3 days, there were more than 4 different crews coming on board for interviews and touring around with camera and mics. My job is actually simple. Stay cool, smile, and try to make my English sound like French. Well, so far people like me being honest and funny (I am not trying to, really!).
Please tell me your address (in English of course), if you want to receive some Christmas greetings from me. I promise you it will be done by this port or next port.
