Dial 9

This afternoon, I just had a phone call from home.

My parents talked to me on the line for the first time.

At the end of the conversation, my mum told me that one of my best friends had been taken from God.

His name is Shi-Yo Lai, my good friend since high school.

He got cancer two years ago right after he finished the military duty which was two or three years ago.

He is such a fighter and mentally strong.

One day before I took the flight to Germany, I visited him in his place.

He was really excited about my coming days. However, both of us had already known this might be the last time we saw each other.

We had a great fellowship that afternoon, and before I left, we prayed together for my mission and his illness.

I learned a lot from this man. Integrity, determination, patience, solid will, and the faith toward life, and after life.

I don't understand why did it hurt so bad. But for now, he don't have to suffer any more. The viurs and the weak body can not bother him any more.

And one day we gonna meet again.

Best,

Ray Peng from Doulos in Dakar, Senegal

(We will be page "dial 9" if it's a phone from outside of the ship.)

For though I am free from all [men], yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
