Navy Day
Thousands of people visited DOULOS over the weekend. The Romanian navy celebrated Navy Day and there were warships of different shapes and sizes in port. There were even ships from the Russian, Bulgarian and Turkish navies. Each ship was decorated with colourful flags and several were open to the public.
DOULOS was the only civilian passenger ship in port and was the princess of the parade! Many members of the public coming for the festive occasion stopped by to visit the world's oldest active passenger ship. On board, crewmembers put on their national costumes and set up colourful country displays. By lunchtime, the ship had over four thousand visitors but the book fair staff were up to the challenge. "You should have seen the queue!" said Stephen (Australia).
海軍節
這個週末的參訪者如潮水般湧進DOULOS。原因無它，羅馬尼亞海軍為了慶祝海軍節，有將近二三十艘各式戰艦駛進海港共襄盛舉。船艦甚至遠從鄰近國家如俄羅斯、保加利亞、或土耳其而來。每艘船都掛滿了色彩繽紛的萬國旗，有幾艘也開放給公眾參觀。
DOULOS是港口中唯一的一艘客輪（其他都是戰艦！），有如花車遊行中唯一的公主。許多遊客在參與海軍節盛會的同時，也順道拜訪這艘世界上還在航行的船隻中歷史最悠久的忠僕號。而在船上這方面，我們許多弟兄姊妹們也穿上他們的民俗服裝，並且展示各國的文物。單單在午餐以前，我們就已經有超過四千人次的人登船，對於負責書展的同工來說的確是一個挑戰。來自澳洲的史蒂芬說：『你們應該看看那個排隊的人龍！』 （八月中）

Happy Birthday!
DOULOS is now 89 years old! During her 25 years of faithful service, the ship has visited 94 countries and had over 17 million visitors. Despite the fact that the ship's birthday was on a Friday, the festivities were postponed to Sunday. This was so more book fair customers from Constanta could participate in the celebration. To commemorate the special occasion, everyone coming to the book fair received a ten percent discount on all purchases. This offer continued over the weekend until the ship left. The ship's bakers also made an enormous cake for the book fair's visitors. Over 50 kg of icing went into the massive cake, which contained 100 eggs, 25 kg of flour, 10 kg of butter and 20 kg of sugar. (23rd AUG)
生日大大地快樂！
忠僕號八十九歲囉！二十五年來她的身影到訪了九十四個國家，而且有一千七百萬人次登船。事實上船的生日是星期五，但為了讓更多愛書者能參與這個難得的盛會，特別延後到星期日句型。而書展更是提供更好康的福利，每個人購書都可以享受九折優待。這項福利一直持續整個週末直到船離開羅馬尼亞。船上的糕餅師傅們更是使盡渾身指數變出個超大的蛋糕供給所有來訪的顧客們吃。一百個蛋，二十五公斤麵粉十公斤奶油和二十公斤的糖才完成這個天大的蛋糕。
